The Reds are launching a new learning initiative offering young people the opportunity to study towards a recognised sports qualification whilst also earning themselves £200.00 in the process.
Redditch Utd Youth and Junior Academy have joined forces with Luis Michael Training and Sparsholt College to provide the Apprenticeship in Sports Leadership.
The course will run for 2 hours per week over a 26 week period and will be held at the Valley Stadium, Redditch from 12pm till 2pm on Friday's, with the first course hoping to kick off in January 2010.

Everyone who successfully completes the course will be awarded an OCR accredited certificate in recognition of their qualification along with £200.00 cash. The course is open to anyone aged 16, 17 and 18 who is employed, unemployed or in part time education, in fact the only people not eligible to enrol on the course are those currently in full time education (that means more than 20 hours per week) All those who enrol will receive full training kit to wear whilst attending the course.
Applications are welcomed from male, female, able bodied and disabled applicants alike as this course is designed for ALL!
Redditch Utd F.C. Youth Development Associate Director, Tim Delaney, said of the course, "for anyone thinking of a possible career in the sports industry or fancy themselves as a budding football coach or manager of the future then the Apprenticeship in Sports Leadership is definitely for them, the training gives a real chance for the local young people of the area to get themselves a nationally recognised series of qualifications that could help provide them with the stepping stone to a career in sport"
The club are holding an enrolment session at The Valley Stadium on Wednesday December 16th between 1pm and 2pm. To enrol you will simply need to provide your National Insurance Number (if you are not sure of this then please contact your local job centre who should be able to provide this for you) and brief details of previous qualifications, there are no pre-requisite requirements to apply for the course just simply fill in the application form on the day and kick off your new career.
Don’t worry if you cannot make this date as you can still enrol by collecting a form from the main club office.
