New Under 21 League

New for season 2010/2011 the MJPFL intend to provide a brand new Under 21 league to compliment the existing junior leagues we currently have.
Currently a team can enter at under 12 which is our youngest age group and then progress up to our youth section (u17/u18) and then they have to find an alternative league to play in. This would mean going to a midweek floodlit league or a Sunday open age group league.

Latest FA Respect News

Respect is The FA’s programme to address unacceptable behaviour in football – on and off the pitch. On average, thousands of referees quit football every year at because of the abuse they receive from players and from the sidelines. Lots of children also pack it in because of the attitude and actions of over-enthusiastic and pushy parents.

In response, The FA’s Respect programme provides a series of tools for leagues, clubs, coaches, Referees, players and parents from grassroots to elite football to ensure a safe, positive environment in which to enjoy the game.

These tools include agreed codes of conduct, in-service training for Referees, Respect club packs, spectator designated spectator areas and ensuring captains work with referees to manage player behaviour.

Wednesfield U14 players sign for Port Vale

Approximately six weeks ago during the long winter break Wednesfield under 14's were able to play under the floodlights at the Cottage ground against Port Vale Acedemy. A successful night resulted in two players being taken on trial. Both players Matthew Bartlett & Mathew Warner have now signed contracts with Port Vale. Two more players have now began trials, these being David Lander & Kainth Mole. Wednesfield wish all the best to these two. This successful union between the two sides has resulted in an affiliation that will see further players hopefully go on trial and the beginning of pre-season friendlies both home and away. This has also resulted in Wednesfield being able to hold trials of their own as they look to bring in more players and hopefully develop them to a better standard.
